Your take on Evans G2 clears...
« on: December 19, 2005, 10:12:28 PM »
I hate to rehash old topics but what are some of ya'll's take on Evans G2 clears for the toms? What kind of sound do they produce. Right now, I have Remo Emperor clears on my toms and I love them. If anyone happens to know the difference in tone between these two brands let me know.
My goal as a musician is to be better than myself.

G2 clears are warmer sound because the material is more pliable/flexible

i would have to disagree
i have recorded with them and they sounded great- just as warm and resonant as they wanna be, soundin'  like deeeeeew
it just has to do with tuning and engineering
a good combo is g2 top, g1 bottom

Yeah EVANS sound great on recordings... you have to rember to tune for the studio regardless of what heads you use. As well you have to know mic placement etc.
