I swithed from remo pinstripes, to Evans G1 coated/ambassodors on my toms on my Yamaha Oak Custom.
Hmmmmm, not liking the sound so far. I never thought I'd say this, but the pinstripes sounded a great deal better. The oaks don't cut with the coated heads, which was expected.
Any tuning advice anyone? I'm getting tons of ring and wierd overtones, where does this problem start?
