Does anyone here know the bass line to Hezekiah Walker's Lift Him Up? And how easy was it for you to learn?

I have not tried to play it yet, but my initial impression is that the bass line itself is fairly easy.  It's a fast tempo and if you're not used to playing Pentecostal style music it may take some getting used to, but I don't think it should be too difficult to learn.  Now there are some things that Reggie Young does that may be a little complex, but the line itslef is pretty straight forward.  The thing about learning songs is not to worry too much about the little riffs and fills that a particular player uses, but rather get the foundation of the song down.  After you are comfortable with that, you can go back and learn the licks or do you own.

I have not tried it yet but I want to copy some of the walking lines.  The song itself is pretty simple, but definately pentecostal speed.

ive had to play the song at a church concert. the song is simple really its just basically shouting music and scales. as far as the slapping, i leave that to the slappers. im not very good at it. but that will cum with more practice. another way u can learn th song is to get a tascam bass trainer. tou can slow dwn the tempo of the song and play along with it. hpe this helps....god bless.

If you have windows media player 9 or 10 your can also slow down the tempo of a song and keep it in the same key.
