I noticed something while practicing the other day that I thought might help someone as it helped me. Here goes:
You know in a major scale the 2 and 3 are usually minor chords and the 4 and 5 major. So, if your in the key of D, a 2-5 walkup might look like this:
E/DGB
F#/EAC#
G/GBD
A/AC#E
Well, this song I practiced does a 2-5 walkup but it goes E, F#, G, Ab, then A. Well on the Ab (or b5), I discovered that you can play a 2 major chord in your right hand over the b5 bass, so the above walkup would go like this:
E/DGB - I
F#/EAC# - just
G/GBD - want
AbD/AbBE - to
A/ADF# - thank
A/GBC#E - you
D/F#AD - Lord
Thanks for letting me share this with you all.
