The best advice is to learn to read music because their are many mor instructional materials on this than their will ever be DVDs. Stick Control (George Stone), Master Studies (Joe Morello) and Double Bass Drumming (Joe Franco), Advanced Funk Studies and Contemporary Drumset Technique (Rick Lathom) have all the patterns you need. Not to mention Patterns (Gary Chaffee whom taught Dave Weckl and Steve Smith).  KNOW THAT FILLS MEAN NOTHING IF YOU DON"T UNDERSTAND TIME AND WHERE/HOW TO PLACE EACH NOTE/HIT.

The best new DVD on that right now is RAY LUZIER : Double Bass Techniques, Hand and Foot Coordination, Drum Fills and Warm-Up Exercises He mooves really fast and covers a ton of stuff so you will have to read the book that comes with it to get the real value out. The guy is clean and is  a monster.

Ray is an instructor at the Musicians Institute of Technology in California (home of PIT - Percussion Institue of Tecnology)
