Tips on "Glorious"

Need Help!!
Who can give me some tips on how to play
this song by Martha Munizzi?
It sounds like it has a latin feel.
I'm not sure what the drummer is doing.
I don't want to play it straight unless that is
what it needs.  I do hear quite a bit of percussion
like shakers, bongos ect.  We don't have any of that.
Any assistance will be very helpful.

Play a straight groove with sycopation (accents) and ghost notes.

You want the syncopation to give a suedo-Latin feel without being bound to knowing the real Latin groove.

A jam-block or cowbell and rim shots on the toms will really make it feel good. Choke up on your snare drum rim shots=high on the shaft near the edge of the drum (2-3").

I get the ghost note idea, but not clear on the
cowbell, and rim stuff.  What and or when would
that be applied.

You could throw it in on breaks as  straight quarter notes while you solo with you free hand and feet or addit into the groove if you are proficient with the Latin feel.
