Whoooooaaaa Nelly!!! Simma down now, simma down! Being away from the forum an entire weekend sure is evident of how much you can miss. Yo, what's up Dway. I just viewed your clips and I would like to say that you really do have a nice feel and your timing is on point. I understand that this is a practice clip of you and you seem to be very receptive of constructive critiqueing so I'll offer a little. I watched all the clips you've posted so far and they're all great. The only thing that I can say is that I would have loved to see you committed to the groove in each song a lil' bit more. Now, if your were practicing/working on your chops then disregard my critique because I understand. Not saying this true for you, but I find myself throwing fills in songs a little too much. If it's one thing that I've discovered about drumming is that it's much easier to play a fill than it is to hold a groove. Holding a groove, especially for a lot of us gospel drummers, takes a lot of discipline. I, personally, want to get to the point where I don't have to concentrate to hold a groove, but it flows out of me naturally. Again, this is not to offend you or anyone else on here. As a matter of fact, next time you record yourself practicing could you record yourself playing and holding a groove. I would love to see your approach to grooving. Keep up the good work man and continue to perfect your gift. It can only get better from here on.
