Light Guage Strings.
« on: February 28, 2006, 08:56:06 AM »
Yesterday, I changed the strings on My P-Bass to light gauged strings and now it sounds soooo much better and muuuccch easier to play, but it doesn't have as much....."bass". :)  But I like it still.

yeah I did that to, but the lighter string lightened the bass tone and it wasn't as heavy and deep.  Me personally I play a six string and I use the heavy guage ones for my B-E-A strings and use a lighter ones for my D-G-C for soloing purposes.  I know one day when I had all light strings and went to my church I had to turn the bass all the way up to get what I was used to getting and my slapping I guess was too hard and it sounded terrible and had to mute more so.  I was using the ken smith slap masters super lites.  They probably were too light.  So to each is own, whatever that floats the boat.
