What brand of drumsticks do yall use and what sizes do you prefer. I use sound percussion 7a and Funk model drumsticks there made by vater the hold up alot better than some of those big budget companies such as Zildjian.

I definitely like the Vater Manahattans 7A. The only problem though they don't last that long. I like the Vic Firth 7a. They are a little heavier but last a lot longer.

Thats why I keep (and probably will keep) saying... STICK these kinds of threads!

That way we don't have people reposting old threads in a new form... OR, as E-R referred too, not searching the forums.

You know...I guess Pro Mark is just bigger down South than anywhere else. It's like the huge brands down here are ProMark and Vic Firth, and only certain models of Zildjian (7A maybe 3A) and certain models of Vater (Manhattan, Fusion). Sound Percussions are used a lot down here too, but it's because they're about 3.99 a pair and come in sizes that liek the 7A's and Erskines.

But anyway, I grew up on ProMark...anything less...was uncivilized. ProMark's are made in Houston by the way  ;D

I practice with Dave Weckl's signature stick and play with Steve Gadd's stick.  I'm thinking about trying those 7A's though.

God bless
