chord to Hillsong Magnificent
« on: March 12, 2006, 09:45:45 PM »
Can someone please help I really like that song, and I want to get the chords so I can try and play that. I know its a different kind of music, but the praise and worship is off the chain on that CD.
Be blessed and lets keep are young people in prayer.

Can you tell me what CD this jam is on?  I have most of Hillsong's stuff.  Once you tell me that, I should be able to hook you up?

Remember though, most of their jams and centered around guitar style playing so be prepared for the jam to be in a key like "E natural" or "A natural".

Peace

We do a lot of Hillsong at our church, and I'm an ear player.  This is what I came up with, straight from the "Blessed" version.  Most of their songs are easy since they don't do a lot of 'gospel' chords.  I just joined this site so I can maybe pick up some pointers on how to get into more of those kinds of voicings.  Let me know if you need other Hillsong chords (like I said, we do a LOT of them).

MAGNIFICENT
(Intro:  Gsus/C  Am7  G  Em  Am7  Dsus)
Verse 1:
                G                    D/F#
Who compares to You
                     Em                 G/B
Who set the stars in their place
                C                             G/B
You who calmed the raging seas
                   Am7                Dsus     D
That came crashing over me
                G                      D/F#
Who compares to You
                Em                          G/B
You who bring the morning light
                    C                    G/B
The hope of all the earth
               Am7                          Dsus   D
Is rest assured in Your great love

CHORUS:
                      G              Em7      Am7           Dsus  D
You are magnificent, eternally wonderful, glorious
G  D/F#   Em7
Je       -     sus
             Am7              Dsus             C        Am7    G
No one ever will compare to You Jesus

Verse 2:
                   G                    D/F#
Where the evening fades
               Em                  G/B
You call forth songs of joy
            C                        G/B
As the morning wakes
                Am7                       Dsus    D
We Your children give You praise

CHORUS 2:
                      G              Em7      Am7           Dsus  D
You are magnificent, eternally wonderful, glorious
G  D/F#   Em7
Je       -     sus
             Am7              Dsus   D
No one ever will compare
(repeat Chorus 2 until…)

                  C        Am7     G    Em
…..to You Jesus

             Am7    Dsus   D
No one ever
D            G        Em  (use Dsus  D to transition back to Chorus)
Will compare!
(repeat)

(Chorus 2 to tag)
                  G       Em
….to You Jesus
             Am                Dsus  D        G        Em
No one ever will compare to You Jesus
             Am                Dsus  D        G
No one ever will compare to You Jesus
