It's good to hear you say that.  I heard it thru my childhood, too.  I have spent most of my 56 years trying to figure that out. ???   But..............Since my Momma and Daddy didn't lie ::).............................I know it HAS to be TRUE.  :D   So...............I carried on the tradition and told it to MY kids!!!!!!  ;D ;D

I used to get these from my dad which I found myself using on my son:

"BOY HUSH!"  (Although it actually sounded like "Bwah Hush!" because Dad is from Tennessee)

"I ain't gon' tell you no mo'!"

"Keep on and you gonna bust your head wide open!"

"...and I'm gonna help." (Commonly used after my mom threatened to "make my booty hot.")

"Next time I'ma tear your butt up."

And when I was standing in front of the TV, mom would say:

"Your daddy is not a glass maker."

Sadly my mother was like the mother on "Everybody Hates Chris" when it came to making threats that were not unthinkable like slapping the soul out of you, or slap the ash of your of you.  I have quit making those silly threats to my children that I picked up from her. Even though they were funny and I would never follow through with them, I dont want the school calling to tell me that my Son threatened to smack the pot liquor out of somebody!! (For tihose that dont know Pot Liquor is collard green juice) Kids cant get away with making threats like that anymore.

I'm sorry but I've never heard someone get threatened to have the pot liquor slapped out of them.  That's hilarious.   :D

;DDude I wish I would have wrote some of them down. And they were not scripted she use to say them off the top of her head. My Moms was real funny in her old life. She still silly now but God has transformed her miraculously. The only time she threatens me like that now is when im making her laugh too hard!!! :) "Ole Crazy boy get away from me for I knock the... the...the bones out of you!!!!" By the way,  OOO RAH!!!

Of course you know that since I'm a Marine, I hear crazy threats all the time.  You should hear some of the lines these guys use on their children.  Especially the former drill sergeants that used to talk that way to their recruits.  As much of a clown as I am, I don't think I could say some of that stuff to my children and keep a straight face. 

I gotta go back to a classic one from the mother on "Everybody Hates Chris"

When asked where his brother was, mom replied with, "Oh, I slapped him into next week.  He'll be back on Tuesday."
