Set Me Free - Lyrics Needed
« on: June 14, 2006, 01:30:34 PM »
Hello to all of My Christian Brothers & Sisters,
Can anyone forward the lyrics to Set Me Free by Myron Butler?
I've gone to our local Gospel Connection store and the 2006
WOW Gospel Book was not in stock at this time.  I'd appreciate
it very much.  I have a son, Langston, who wants to sing this
song.  He's somewhat quiet and I'm elated because he wants
to sing in church.  Thank you in advance, God Bless.

Kind regards,
Rodney Whitaker & Family

Set Me Free
(written by Myron Butler)
(recorded by Myron Butler & Levi)

Verse:
I donít even know where my life would be,
if You hadnít shown, shown Your love towards me.
Broke the chains, the chains that were binding me,
gave me liberty, set me free.

Bridge 1:
(If it hadnít been) yeah,
(for the Lord who) yeah.
(who was on my side),

(be lost) yeah,
(like a ship) yeah
(without a guide).

(If Iím sinking) yeah
(said He) yeah
(lifting me, broke the chains that were binding me)

Chorus:
Oh (whom the son sets free)
Oh (is truly free indeed)
Oh, oh, oh.

Verse

Bridge 2:
(And when I) yeah,
(I felt like) yeah,
(I could not last).

(I was bound by) yeah,
(the guilt of) yeah,
(of my past).

(But I gave the Lord) yeah,
(the Lord, my life) yeah
(and in exchange),
(He gave me brand new life),
(I havenít been the same).

Chorus

Vamp:
Gave me victory,
now I, I have been set free.

Gave me liberty,
now I, I have been set free.

Ending:
Set me free.

Let me try this again without making an error...

Actually Black Gospel Lyric Ministry (BGLM) is ( http://www.blackgospellyricministry.org which is also the partner site to LGM) . Over majority of Allgospellyric's lyrics come from  and continue to come from Black Gospel Lyric Minsitry's database. BGLM has been online for over 5 years (Allgospellyric has been online a year) and was the first site to have an extensive archive of gospel lyrics. Also majority of the lyrics are a bit more accuurate vs the one found on Allgospellyric.
