Believe it or not, I actually thought that Clint Brown was black the first time that I heard him.  I first heard the Judah CD.  I was younger then and was ignorant that other races made great music as well.  I didn't come to that understanding until I went to college and started taking theory classes and my eyes and ears were opened up to other styles of music.  Now I'll listen to anyone.  Has anyone heard Rod Wilbourn and the West Tennessee Mass Choir.

lol, i played guitar for WTMC for a few years, I'm playing on the cd.

This is the way I play it, it sounds great with the band but kinda dull with just the bass player.

Quater notes G,D,D here         Half notes C,D Quater notes G here
G G        C  C               D D     CDG G
Lord I lift your name on high

          C C                    D D         CDG G
Lord I love to sing your praises

          C C                   D D      CDG G
I’m so glad you’re in my lift

          C C                        D D          CDG G
I’m so glad you cam to save us

G                          C          D D
You came from heaven to earth

      C  C         G G
To show the way

                 CC        D D
From the earth to cross

       CC       G G
My debt to pay

               C C              D D
From the cross to the grave

              E  E             A A
From the grave to the sky

         D D                    G G
Lord I lift your name on high

Oh man...I have played that song in so many different styles over the years.  The chords already illustrated on this post are spot on, so there's nothing much I can add other than different keys.  I have played it reggae style, funk style, rock style, folk style, ballad style...lots!  The first church I played for liked to play it in the same style as 'The Joker' by Glen Miller.  I always thought that was a bit cheesy...especially the wolf whistle on the guitar!  That really used to make me cringe!!  ::)  For the sake of good taste...please don't play this song in that style!!

I did a search and it came up. Sounds like rock. Sounds like the same stuff Ty is doing now and his CCI pieces.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

Here's a clip of me playing it so that you can get a better understanding, I made it using Garageband on my mac so its not the best quality and I played it simple so that you would understand it:

My timing is off but here's what I hear an dmaybe give you some new ideas on this clip.I dub over my bass run.
Hope you get some ideas from it also keep in mind.I still have bass run from the 60's to 70's in my head like it were yesterday.
That why my playing sound out dated.
To old and to late in the game for me to change, so i'm just adding on

I did that very basic so that the original poster could have an idea of the song.  There's many ways of playing it.  That's the version that I original learned so that's what I did for him.
Keep God first and he'll do the rest!!!
