I'm selling a couple of my basses
« on: April 04, 2006, 10:13:11 PM »
I am selling my Music Man Bongo and one or both of my Hanewinckel 6 string basses.  I'm looking for $925 for the Bongo and $1,600 for each of the anewinckels. I think I have a deal pending on the fretted 6 string Hanewinckel.  If anyone is interested, please shoot me a pm.

Here's the Bongo  (sorry for the huge picture)

And here are both Hanewinckels.  The one on the right with Nathan East's signature on it may already be sold, but if the deal falls through I'll post that info.  The fretless one on the left is available.

Peace,

James

Well I won't be able to buy something of that cost for a few more years but I'd like to see them anyhow. I don't think your pictures worked?

Okay.  The fretted Hanewinckel did sell and will packed up and shipped to Cleveland tonight.  Glad it sold fast, before I had a chance to play it again and change my mind like I did two years ago.

The Bongo and the fretless Hanewinckel are still available.

Mike, are the pictures still not working?  They come up on my computers at home and work.  Could be that the size of the Bongo picture is slowing things down.  If they continue to not work, pm me and I'll email you a couple pictures.

Peace,

James

If you think those are beautiful, you should see the ones I'm keeping  ;)

You can check out what Hanewinckel is all about by going here.....    http://hguitars.com/

I'm keeping the two on the ends and the one in the middle.

I'm not professional and I'm not sponsored.  I just like to play.  Over the years I've managed to buy and sell used basses to gradually move up to the ones I REALLY like.  The Hanewinckel that I sold yesterday for $1,600 is a bass I bought used 5 years ago for $1,675.  That amounts to $15 a year to use a super cool bass.

If I were in the market for a 6 string today, depending on the price range, I'd be looking at.....

Under $1,000:  Used Peavey Cirrus

1,000 - 2,000:  Used Zon, used Warwick Thumb or Stage 1, used Gibson-era Tobias, used Roscoe LG-3006

2,000 - don't ask: Used Ken Smith, used pre-Gibson Tobias, used Alembic, used MTD 635, new Hanewinckel (hard to find used) used or new Roscoe LG-3006

These suggestions are seriously biased to my own personal tastes.  YMMV.

James
