Roland Workstations
« on: April 25, 2006, 04:34:21 AM »
Yesterday I was looking at some Roland Workstations. They seem to be pretty good, but I was wondering if anyone owns one or has played on one. I plan to do gospel hip-hop/r&b beats and I wanted to know if the sound quality is good for this type of music. I'm just trying to start simple for now so I'm probably going to get the Roland Fantom-Xa...what are the advantages/disadvantages of this keyboard. Also, for the music that I am trying to produce does anyone have any other brand or workstation suggestion that might be better than a Roland.

Hey Angelica, Sup!

Listen, in my years of playing in church, i've played just about every brand there is. Now, Roland workstations are real good, BUT the menu ans options are hard to find and use, it is not really a user friendly workstation, it'll take a while for you to adjust, I played a fantom Xa one time and it was aight, but i could n't find what I wanted as quick as I wanted to. Suggestions: Get a Yamaha Motif, or a Korg Triton, preferrably the Motif, Both are good, and easy to use, and the Motif has some of the best sounding Pianos out there, If you watch TV and see guys like Stevie Wonder or other musicians, you'd usually see a Triton or a Motif. That's just my two and a half cents ;D

God Bless
