My favorite thing to go between the guitar and the amp is the cord :)

While I dig the signal chain of "Telecaster or Les Paul + cord + all-tube amp of choice" is my favorite, I do like the toyz and sound effects  ;D

Currently I use my Line 6 Spider II amp which has built-in effects though I'm missing my footswitch (new one hasn't come in yet) so I'm back to my old custom-home-made pedalboard chock full-o-effects and stuff.

I'm not really big on any of the multi-effects processors currently available though I've heard good things about the high-end Boss/Roland GT8 unit and the Line 6 POD XT Live.

The volume control and whammy! ;) Besides those I like Digitech, Line 6, & Boss.

I currently have the Digitech GNX3 processor.  I only use maybe three or four of the presets for actual use in church and I use the wah-wah/expression pedal alot also. When the wah is not active it works as the volume control (probably a given for most pedals).

Ibanezman, how do you like your digitech rp50. Because my next move will most likely be the digitech rp50's big brother, the rp80.

Modded Morley Bad Horsie, built-from-scratch J-Fet Booster, occasional Fuzz Face (also from scratch, with mods), Uni-Vibe (which is currently a Dano Chicken Salad--going to build the real thing eventually...).

Always a tube amp, though.  Nothing you put in the chain can replace that (except maybe a tube OD?).

God bless.

Man...that rp50 is the way i got my 'sound'(which is bluesy church licks with CHORUS)  I like the rp50, but if i had known about the rp80, i would have bought it instead.....in my opinion, the only real difference between the rp50 and the rp80 is the rp80 has an expression pedal for the 3 wahs......

Well, I've been playing for a couple of years now and I was toying with the idea of buying some processors. what should I look for?

Yeah,  I originally had the rp50, and I tried to find an expression pedal, but they were costing more than the processor, so I sent it back and go the 80. It definitely gets the job done for the cost. ;) God Bless...

When  I had my RP100A, I found a Jimi Hendrix Crybaby on ebay for $20. The two combined gave me an awesome sound. I traded my Jimi and I miss it badly even though I have the GNX3! The sound was so sweet and fat :-\

I just tried out a POD XT Live last night.

Wow.

Just wow.

If I had the $299 (it was used), I'd have bought it right there.

Even now I'm thinkin' about what I can sell/trade to get it.  :o
