I'm lost on the F too, unless it’s a key that has a good relation to all the other keys, for some odd reason that I don't know. I usually warm-up in B or A because I never really get to play in those keys during service….

I'm with Bishop Cole - I start in F also.  That has always been a mellow key for me although I can
do just as well in all keys.  F is really phat.   Thank you Bishop Cole I thought that I was all by myself in this concept but it certainly works for me.

Thank you Wash!!!!  This is just it. F is a mellow full key as well as the key that should be played to find out how good of an organ that you have or are playing on because of its range. When you are playing in F, this allows you to check your High C , which is the top note on the organ keyboard, in which mostly every run that you will do in your most popular keys, will FEED off of that C. Now, start playing in F more and I promise you that you will be able to fine tune your playing skills as well as your organ at the same time!!!   Bishop Cole

I usually play in Db unless Im thinking of a certain song.

F is a good key to play a churchy style in. Its like the perfect mix between the black and white keys. It feels good to play in and it can have the bright feel of the white keys and the jazzy/blues feel of the black keys. You can play just about any scale in this key too or atleast I can lol.
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

For Real Boshop Cole.  For real.  Never thought of it that way but you are so correct in finding out
if the organ is on point in the highs and lows etc.  Keep kicking it in F :)

God Bless

I am a F starter as well...but usually where ever...I don't have a preference when I used to my own organ but in other churches I do start in F to "test the waters"...

B , E  or F

Love those Keys  I spend alot of time playing in those keys especially B (P&W)

F(Preaching)

E (grooving)...Great is thy Faithfulness   I Can't remember if E's the Original Key  but I love the Sound in E Specially when you do the  B bass line Walk down to Ab with the Diminish Chords in the Right     Whhhhheeeew    Love it

Alot of the younger Key players tend to stay away from the White keys  But I Love them  .........What's a Quest without a Challenge

Bishop  Cole ..... Thanks for the info
