What Is A True Minstrel?

It is written:

2 Kings 3:15  But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.

I know on this board that you have to have so many posts and then you become "minstrel" and this is the administration of this board.  However, let's take a deeper look at this.  There IS a difference between a minstrel and a musician although the two are so closely related.  A minstrel is more geared to function by the leading of the Spirit.  The minstrel's mind, heart and being is attunded to Godly Heavenly things.  The minstrel is more concerned about ministrering according to the Lord Jesus Christ through music.

The musician can still be anointed however God wants them to and serve God in that capacity to.  The key is to understand that God is sovereign and can do whatever He pleases.

The ministry has Heavenly keys and when they play, they can cause the hand of the Lord to come upon the person of God.  The musician, no matter how anointed and Holy is not as concerned about Holy spiritual matters.  The musician is geared more towards performance and things of the earth.  They can still be saved but they are more concerned with horizontal ministry as opposed to vertical ministry.

Maybe the leaders of this board can share their faith and wisdom about what a minstrel truly is.  Remember, there can be what ever kind of minstrel that God wants this to be.  Many are calling themselves minstrel these days but the true minstrels of God are going to live a Holy lifestyle:

Matthew 7:13-14  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 7:16-20  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Hebrews 12:14-16  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;  Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
