So ya want to know about that entire k-board lingo? No problem, here we go; first off, for majors, the roman numerals as follows:
I – ii – iii – IV – V – vi – vii – VII
1– 2 – 3 - 4 – 5 – 6 - 7 - 8
Now the capitals are for the MAJORS and the small romans are the MINOR and it’s for the chords or the chord voicing.
Now for the symbols and such on the internet, the main types and what I use are these:
L.H. = LEFT HAND
R.H. = RIGHT HAND
“ / “ = SEPERATES THE LEFT & RIGHT HAND
( - - ) = THE HYPHENS ARE FOR SINGLE NOTES BEING PLAYED
FACE = CHORD ‘NOTED OUT ‘
FM7 = CHORD NAME
b = STANDS FOR FLAT
# = SATNDS FOR SHARP
o = DIMINISHED
dim = DIMINISHED
aug = AUGMENTED
M = MAJOR
m = MINOR
+ = RAISED OR SHARPED
- = LOWERED OR FLATTED
These are not just ‘made up’ symbols, these are in the actual music lingo. Please get used to the symbols, you will see them for the rest of your musical endeavors. Throught this book, I’ll constantly remind you to memorize this material put it into your heart and spirit, so that it’ll never leave you. By the time you finish this book, the preceding book, and any other, you will be able to write your own material.
