Understanding Patterns!!!
« on: December 25, 2006, 02:01:55 PM »
Well, the problem isn't that I dont no any patterns it's that i dont really understand them. I need some real good advice on understanding them. For instance, playing a chop all the way up and down the fretboard. But I would really appreciate if someone with a good knowledge of music theory  give a good explanation to answer this for me?

When you say patterns, are you talking about the progressions? Everything comes off of the progression. You build your scales, as you move through the progressions.

I suggest familiarizing yourself with the fingering for the major scale in all positions on the fingerboard.
