i'm sure it has some good stuff in there......it better with 10 dvd's worth, lol. as far as the style you are looking for help in......i don't know...it said r&b and funk.......but quartet is like a blues/country blues kind of hybrid thing. i think it probably would help you as an overall player. being an intermediate player, you should be able to get enough stuff just listening to quartet stuff rather than getting something from that.
