I think he meant it is easier for those singers that play keys to riff and find stuff
and it is true a singer who plays keys will have more possibilities presented to him or her

Yeah, this is what I meant.  PREESH!

I'm trying to work on my voice. Right now, I'm one of those dudes that sjon talked about. My voice sounds like a rusty dog, on crack, sitting on the corner selling bootleg pork chops.

This'll definitely help me out.

Same here! ;D  I'm like Kirk Franklin.  I'm good on the keys, but when it comes to my voice...

I warm my choir up on Oh Lord We Praise You (Start in C and modulate to F)
I also warm my choir up on Let Us Praise and Worship Him (old John P. Kee) I start the tenors on E, altos on G and Sopranos on C. I modulate up to A flat on this one

If you don't know this one, I'll share and consider this your late Christmas present...
 ;D

Tenors have the last note, Altos have the middle note, Sopranos have the top note...

Let   Us     Praise  And   Wor-  Ship   Him
EGC  GCE   CEG    ADF   GCE    FAD  EGC

The bass line is

Let   Us         Praise  And    Wor- Ship  Him
C,     C, G,F    E        D or F  G       G    C

Repeat each one two times...

This is a very good warm up because you can do it a cappella anywhere before your choir sings at other churches/functions etc...

i dont think it will be hard to find a vocal teacher in nashville that is the music capitol of the world

country anyway but vocal control is vocal control

in sc you may have a bigger dillema

of course check your phone book
for music schools
check your colleges in your areas most bigger colleges have fine arts courses
and you can just register for them as long as you have a ged or high school diploma

you can put an advertisement out in the help wanted that you are looking for a singing teacher

or you can try one of the singing software courses online

some of them are pretty good

i bought singing coach
i like it
i got better in a week
