Congratulations man,
Church musician jobs (well, all jobs) are hard to get around here, especially the higher-paying church musician jobs. You are about to play with Vincent Fitzgerald, one of the best bass players here, and I think organist Derrick Starks, who I beleive came back here from Bishop Eddie Long's church in ATL. I don't know the guys that B3Wannabe mentioned, but I'd like to meet them. You got to check out the Clark Sisters' church, Greater Emmanuel Institutional COGIC, where they have 2 powerhouse organists Rex Houston and Eddie Brown. You have to go to Hope UMC, where they have 3 powerhouse musicians - Alvin Waddles, who plays for the Alvin Waddles Trio, Carolyn Cole, who plays on Twinkie's level, and Carolyn Moss, who played on Twinkie's Florida A&M album. You have to meet Larry Nix, who played on the late Chris Jones' first album.....I think he plays at New Ebenezer. Check out the Fletcher Chorale concert this Sunday at 6pm at 2nd Ebenezer Baptist. The Brian Thomas Chorale will be there from Toledo, and their organist is hot. Also, check out the Joe Smith Project recording at Great Faith Ministries on the 23rd at 7pm. But you MUST meet Alvin Waddles and Harold Watson (H313W) before you leave town. I haven't heard anyone in the gospel arena here who can touch them. Welcome to the D.......
