The minor Pentatonic scale is always a good place to start. Learning all five positions will help out in a church setting quite a bit. This is nothing more than what they call a "Blues Scale". As far as chords go: G, C, D, E, A and F are good chords to start with. Practice going from one to another smoothly. At least until you get your fingers conditioned. I'm not good with Tabbing it out. Maybe someone else can add their two cents in with this.
If I may correct something, the pentatonic minor is not the same as the blues scale. It is a scale used in the blues, yes, but it's not the "blues" scale (this is all too confusing, I know).
Pentatonic minor is as follows (in A):
-------------------------------------5--8-
-------------------------------5--8-------
------------------------5--7--------------
-----------------5--7--------------------
----------5--7---------------------------
---5--8----------------------------------
Minor blues in A is:
------------------------------------------5--8-
-----------------------------------5--8--------
--------------------------5-7-8---------------
-------------------5--7------------------------
----------5-6-7-------------------------------
---5--8----------------------------------------
The difference is in the sharp 4/flat 5 note addition in the blues scale.
For reference, diatonic minor is:
------------------------------------------------5-7-8-
---------------------------------------5-6-8----------
--------------------------------5--7------------------
---------------------5--7--9-------------------------
------------5-7-8------------------------------------
---5-7-8---------------------------------------------
Diatonic minor is the full 8 note scale, octave to octave.
Pentatonic is a 5 note scale.
Blues is a pentatonic with an additional 6th "blue" note.
