Great stats!

I have a Super Action 80 II as well.  I've had it for almost 20 years now.

I use two different mouthpieces, a Dukoff super power chamber #9 (metal) and a Runyon #5 (hard rubber).  I use Harry Hartmann fiberreeds in a medium soft, which would be about a 2 1/2.

Hello, I just join on yesterday. I am a self taught sax player from VA. I have been playing since 2001. I own a Yas 62 alto among several other student model horns. I play the alto, soprano and sometimes tenor on the praise/worship band at my Church 3 services every Sunday. The Church has weekly attendance of just over 2000. I also fill in on the electric bass and drums. I am also self taught on the latter 2. I play key board a little but know ready to learn playing with both hands. That is why a join.

Peace out!

Sax player here from the Houston, TX area!

Been playing for 20 years. Alto (main), soprano, and bari. I'm not too into the sound of the tenor. Don't quite know why... just never really got into it (except for Gerald Albright and Everette Harp).

Current set up: Selmer Super Action II alto, Otto Link 6 metal mouthpiece. Belmonte soprano, plastic mouthpiece that came with it  ;D. It sounds good, so I just use it. I also have Dukoff mouthpieces for alto and soprano, but it's too bright and abrasive for the sound I'm trying to get now. Rico Select Jazz 3M reeds for both horns.

BTW, if you want to WAKE UP your threads, somebody needs to start a fight or something. That's why the drum room is always buzzing... we fight and argue like a family!! ;D

Basically, somebody up in hea is gon hav to git ig-nant!!

I'm just joking!!  ;D

Ok, I am a Sax man in Corpus Christi Texas.
I may be a little too far south for you guys.

My set up is a Selmer Mk 7 alto / Selmer C* metal mouthpiece/hard reeds
Buescher tenor/Brilhart 5* mouthpiece/hard reeds
2 soprano saxes, both with metal mouthpieces.
One of them is over 150 yrs old and is in excellent shape.
(Solotone made in Amsterdam) It is a one piece Soprano that sounds like nothing
I have ever heard. " very sweet but not harsh "
(this horn is so old that it only has 2 palm keys and 2 side keys )
It is still in its original case and plays perfectly.
This horn has projection out of this world.
I use a Selmer C* metal mouthpiece/med hard reeds with this horn.
My other Soprano is a selmer look alike but it sounds nlthing like my old soprano.
I only pull out my vintage soprano when I accompany a large choir.
I also have 2 wind controllers, one is a yamaha electronic woodwind and the other is a yamaha WX-11 set up.
My main horn is my alto because I find it easy to get in and out of churches and still get the best range when working with keyboards.
