LOL... this is funny to me... But my church drumers and my God sisters husband.

My God sister is married to Joel Smith (Plays for Love center in Oakland for Walter Hawkins) he has taught me how to have atrong pocket.

Then the drummers at my church, Taj and Dre have been the beiigest influences with creativity and also with my pocket.

Spaky and Tony Royster Jr. for a million other reasons. I gained some speed and style techniques watching and hearing him play. With Tony i have learned a bit more creativity and the are of flowing.

Its hard to pin point just one or two drumers, when a lot of people are bringing something diffrent to the table. I just like to sit and watch and learn.

Ok I might get some negative feed back but here it is...

1. Jesus, God and The Holy Sprirt........Well it's because of them why I do what I do
1. My uncle......I watched him when I was young play at church and that's how got my start.
2. Mike Neuble......My first ever concert at West Angeles he taught me how to play like a pro in church.
3. Ron Pearson(bass player)....."Just stay in the pocket, I'll give time to shine" He showed me where to put my licks.
4. James or Jamie Gamble........Told me don't try to be like me be like you and who to listen to for my style.
5. Michael Bland..........Who told me you don't have to solo over everything and try singing background so you can get two checks.
6. Marvin Boone........Just to follow him while playing was influence.
7. Ahmir Thompson/Questlove............Told me to listen to all kinds of music.
8. Art Blakey..........Just his passion and facial expressions and to me one of the cleanist press rolls ever.

Dennis Chambers/Vinnie Colaiuta/Dave Weckl - First time I heard these dudes, I was petrified. I don't play anything like them NOW, despite the fact that, once upon a time, I spent many a teary-eyed days trying to sight read their solos that I transcribed. Influenced my style because he was the first non-gospel drummers that I took a liking to.

Virgil Donati - The first drummer who made me feel okay about my dedication to the craft.

Chris "Daddy" Dave - The drummer who, after everytime I heard him play, made me feel more confident in my decision to find my own voice.

The man who is most recently contributing to my style is Dave Dicenso. look him up on youtube. this guy teaches one of my drum classes here and i actually have my first sit down with him one on one in about an hour and will be doing this everyweek !

1. David Garibaldi - Not just super funky - the best ballad drummer, too.
2. Steve Smith - Incredible in every way
3. Dennis Chambers - The natural - & my bro plays guitar on his upcoming dvd
4. Tony Williams - Easily the drummer's drummer, visionary, innovator, sheer brilliance
5. Elvin Jones - Feel the music, Be the music, No rules
6. Zig Molediste - Raw funkitude
7. John Bonham - Brought serious deep groove to hard rock, was like Motown on steroids
8. Clyde Stubblefield - funky finesse and playing for the music
9. Ringo Starr - Ringo played for the song, not himself
10. Carly Barret - Marley's riddim man was another natural who's signature defined a style
11. Frank Zappa's drummers: Humphrey, Thompson, Dunbar, Bozzio, Colaiuta, and Wackerman
