Thats pretty vague....There is so much that you should know.  Just to get the ball rolling though....you should always be relaxed when you play.  Tension hinders your movements as well as the sound you produce.  If you feel tension when you practice, you should stop and break everything down very slow and work it back up.  Loose is good...tension is bad.
