Welcome agape316,
These are not rules, as much as they are suggestions....but, here goes:
1. Suggestions for song selections are to be submitted to the director...but the final choice is up to the discretion of the director.
*(get that one straight immediately, or there will be a struggle between members, musicians, and the director.)
2. If you don't rehearse....you don't sing or play!
3. Musicians should (if at all possible) master the selections BEFORE mass choir rehearsal.
4. All members will learn and pay attention to the "hand signals", typically used by most choir directors.
5. When the director says "CUT" (in rehearsal)....E V E R Y T H I N G stops........music, singing, talking, everything.
*(this will cut down on the rehearsal time)
6. No person will deviate from the way a selection was rehearsed....ie: no impromptu solos or vamps.
7. Everyone will move as a unit. It is a choir, and not a collection of INDIVIDUALS. (there's a difference)
8. If your not led to be in the choir (....only there out of habit, or to boost numbers) we respectfully ask you to enjoy the service in a congregational capacity!!!
