It's different for every church.  My advice? Play what moves you.  What are the songs you like (more importantly: pray and ask God what HE likes)...Im at a AME church...(talk about slow and cold LOL ) we do a variety for the old and young.  I find that the old school songs: Oh Lord, I want you to help me (moderate tempo), We Lift our hands in the Sanctuary, Lord you Good (Israel NB), Im on the Battlefield, Pass me not (moderate but deliberate tempo), Oh happy Day! (sister act version) ...are all great songs that get the congregation goin. Again that's just us! ...Sing and play what moves you ...you will infect the others with your praise!  8)
