Bass enhancers
« on: August 12, 2004, 05:14:05 AM »
Does anyone use any type of enhancers with your equipment. I have been looking at adding the BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer and the Aphex Bass Xciter Pedal. Does anybody use either of these, or a simular item with your bass or in your studio.

To be honest, in all my experience, bass effects sound like crap.  None of them will really make the sound better.  The best thing to do is just work on technique.  The money you waste on cheap effects (that will probably short out and fail before long anyway) could be spent much more efficiently by getting some lessons.  I know I sound really opinionated on that, but I've seen it over and over.  People try to take the easy way out and buy crap that they think will make them sound better when what they really have to do is work.  Where are you from in MI by the way?

Good Afternoon Ms. Msmjfig

As I told lildummerboy4 yesterday keep in mind these replies are the opinions of other bassplayers like yourself, only you know what sound
is appealing to your Groove. Don't let opinions hinder your creativity

In my arsenal I have a Mutron3,Morley Bass Wha,Boss Octave3,Flanger and 7 band Equalizer. and a few others I use them all
I've tried the (Line 6 Bass) & (Boss Rc20 loop station) a bit pricey but
you can get a lot out of them,

Check out Marvin Sapp's (All about You) listen to that funky mutron3 or
some Kirk Franklin etc. not all the deep funky bass lines are Kybds in
