"All Da Fixins"
« on: June 09, 2007, 04:33:05 PM »
So we've all heard of the different types of drums and cymbals out there...woods, brands, finishes, sizes, etc.

So what extra things have you guys added to create different sounds or even to individualize your drums other than the traditional stuff? I'm talking tambourines on the high hats, cowbells, maybe stick holders, bongos off to the side, art of some sort...What's good on your kit besides the ordinary???

Me personaly I put my name in graffiti on the coated head of my snare, and at our church we used assorted cowbells

Maybe (most of) the potential respondents mostly have the standard fare: cymbals and drums.

I mean, they could make up something, but that wouldn't be fair to your topic.

I use Dream Cymbals for a different sound. I have some that sound like old K' but still have their own thing going on.
Mapex Drums, Grant Custom Basses, Carparelli Basses, Istanbul Cymbals,!

They have resonable prices too.... Only $199 for a Bliss ride.... I would compare it to a K Custom dark ride :-\ and the crashes are about $115 each which is great!! I looking in to buying a standard 16" Crash 14" Hi Hats and a 20" ride....
