Okay, if we're sticking with Fenders...
-Tele
-Swamp Ash
-"C" neck profile--maple with Rosewood board
-Flat black ("hot rod" black
)
-Whatever pickup is in my Wolf (close to a Gibson PAF, maybe a Pearly Gates) in the bridge, tapped
-Neck pickup (this has been in the back of my head for years) two standard Tele neck pickups, wired in parallel (for HB operation), but with a kill switch on one of them for the standard Tele neck tone (which is the sweetest neck pickup in the world)
-ah, throw a single coil in the mid position for those in-between Strat settings... why not? (and a 5-way switch).
-brushed aluminum pickguard, brushed hardware
-how about some numbers on the sides of your metal knobs, Fender? Huh? Why hasn't that been thought of?
-no tone control... or the TBX one, it is kinda' useful on a Tele (although I usually set it flat... lol)
-my name laser-engraved on the headstock (as if it were a production model - The Jay Patton PEEBSound Special)
-a strap made out of an old GM seatbelt/buckle will be included (not a reproduction, this will be salvaged from a scrapyard and altered as needed).
That's about it, I think.
As you can see, I've never put much thought into it.
If Fender won't give me a model of my own, then I'll take some decked-out PRS.
Or, in all honesty... my Wolfgang, or the guitar that Peavey replaced it with.
You shouldn't have got me started... lol
