we're getting new cymbals for the kit at my church. which brand should we roll with??

The ones that sounds oh so good to them thangs on the side of yo ears - play the metal, not the black labeling on the metal.

Go to the store and try them out!! You may end up even gettin a mixture of both brands I have a little of this and a little of that and they all compliment each other very well! ;) The reason I say go to the store is because you may think you know exactly what you want and try them out a it being a differnt story.. It does depend on the level of the cymbals though :-\ It you arent getting any High- End cymbals, I would go with Sabian all the way! :D 8)

...looks good.  I like the 20" Byzance Dry Ride which is now discontinued.  Drums2go had the one Chris Coleman used at his Orlando Clinic.  It's the same model he used on Live From Another Level.  It sounded great although the bell was a lil' on the weak end for me.  The 14" Filter China which Thomas Lang and Chris C. use is the truth.

He didn't use that one on the DVD.  The finishes are totally different.  The DVD was a regular finish Byzance model, but it definitely was not the Dry Model, which has a 'sandy' finish.  That ride could have been a medium or maybe (which I'm doubting) a ping ride.
