There are many factors to be taken into consideration: How many are in the band? What are their ages and experience? What genre works in your community? Who are you emulating or moving toward?
These are all important things to consider when wanting to improve the quality of your musicianship. Also, you need to encourage them broaden their own listening base of music. I give a list of artists that I want them to become familiar with. This helps them to know what to buy when they go to the Christian bookstore.
