another old school song
« on: August 19, 2007, 10:55:54 PM »
Have you ever heard or remember this song, “Careless Soul Heed The warning?”
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  Colossians 3:23

Lyrics

Careless soul heed the warning for your life will soon be gone, and oh how
sad to face the judgement unprepared, unprepared to meet thy God...careless
soul why would you linger wandering from the throne of God, hear ye not the
earnest pleading, Oh prepare, oh prepare to meet thy God
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  Colossians 3:23

I never heard this song before.  I could not find it in my old Hymnals but I was able to find it on the internet.

The first link will take you to the lyrics and a sound recording of the song.  The song is sung without instrumentation. The second link will take you to what looks like a page from an old Hymnal.  Tomorrow, I will try to play along with the singer.  I am a advanced beginner. Maybe one of LGM advanced players could post the chords or midi to this song.

At my home church in Water Valley, Ms. back in the late 70, during this time, there was many older mothers in the church. They would sing these older songs.

I love talking and singing with the older generation. I am not 50 yet very close but not yet.

LOL T-Block I am 50+.  You're right most of these songs I have not heard.  I'll ask some of the saints in church if they have heard of these songs.

Does the man talk and the choir echos "Where is your faith in God".  something about down to your last dime, he then says, "Christian, Where is your faith?"
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.  Psalm 34:4
