Official LGM Jam #2
« on: August 31, 2007, 11:21:04 AM »
Ok guys, here's some tracks to choose from. Let's try and choose by MOnday if possible, that way we can get going on it!!

Would love to see more of you get involved, it was fun seeing how guys approached the last track. Let's use this to learn from one another!!

I like the "Funk Track," personally. I think we can all do a lot of branching out on that one. Even get into some effects, maybe... (I don't know "wah" I'd use on that one lol...)

Jam Track 54 wouldn't play. I just got digital noise (R2D2 on speed).

So, unless Jam Track 54 is killer, my vote's on Funk Track.

i'll see what's up with that one track, but I don't know that it's a mind-blower or anything.

Yeah, it seems like the last week no one's been on here...

C'mon folks, I'm needy, I need social stimulation lol (I'm kidding, btw)...

Hopefully they roll in. It's a busy weekend for a lot of folks.

yeah, i hope so, i'd really like for everyone to be involved. if there were any gospel backing tracks out there we could do some, but they just don't exist. and most of the midi's aren't very good. if it's a style thing, someone speak up, we'll try to figure something out.

Dave,
That was real cool. What software/hardware products did you use to lay down and mix those tracks? I like the mix.

On another forum I belong to, we do a monthly jam and whomever wants to participate, does and does so at their own pace through the month.
Maybe that's a plan for us as well?

i'm up for whatever would have people involved. a month seems a little long to me, maybe every 2 weeks or so....but seriousy, if a month would get people involved i'm up for it.

i guess my thing is i'd just like to get some input from the guys around here, some involvement.

I'm in! This time I'll have to get my software set done correctly. Never could figure it out in the earlier jam sesion. I'm trying to use my GNX3 to mix it. I'll give it a shot though. Dave's track is kickin!!!

Yes, feedback can help all of us. One thing we on the other forum have is a mutual trust/respect for each other and we're open to both give and receive constructive criticism without offense. Several of the players are very grateful to have the criticism as they don't have the luxury of having a teacher to give them feedback on their playing and their progress.

I've no doubt that the same could help all of us here, too.  8)

Thanks,

It's called Cyberjammin. It's made up of primarily former members of Harmony Central's Veterans forum from several years ago...now called Cool Jam.
Cyberjammin is an invitation-only forum, it's fairly heavily non-Christian and made up of players from hacks to pros, many of them using the forum as more of a social medium than a musical one...which is typical of most forums I know of.

the bible does say that "iron sharpeneth iron"....

another set of ears will always hear something you can't.....it's not always easy to hear constructive criticism, but it's essential to develeloping as a musician. i know it was a great help to me to have strong mentors that would tell me if something i was doing didn't sound good or needed to be different.
