Hi All,

I'm trying to play this in Cminor, & I'm getting well and truly frustrated !! Can anyone help, and I'd be most grateful.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when I play the III CHORD, I'm playing Gminor coz I've always understood that cminor is like playing in Eb, but the I chord is the cm itself ??. It still sounds wierd. (maybe my "newbie" status is taking over !!

Hopefully someone out there can assist me chord this song.  Many thnx

Why are you trying to play it in C "minor" if the Song is in Eb "major"?

A relative minor key may be similar...but it is not exactly the same. They have the same Key signature, but have a different "tonic" and will sound different.

I don't know the song...I'm just going off T-Blocks post...He put Key of Eb / Gb,  so I was assuming Major...but looking at the chords closer??

My mistake...I guess the small "e"b meant Eb min or Gb Maj...

Are you talking about the III chord in the song or the III of the scale?

To chord this in Cmin just move all the notes posted by T-block 1 1/2 steps down.  Thanks for the post T-Block...

Here is example from what T posted above...just go backwards 1 whole step and then 1 half step for each note.
Ebmin                                 Cmin
/ Bb, Eb, F      / G, C, D
Eb / Bb-Eb-Gb      C / G-C-Eb
Eb / Gb-Bb-Eb      C / Eb-G-C
/ Ab         / F
Eb / Bb-Eb-Gb, F, Eb   C /G-C-Eb, D, C

Well, all u gotta do is learn the pattern of the song, then u can transfer it to any key.  The basic pattern of the song is:  6-1-4-5-1-7-3 then it repeats that in different ways.

Naming progressions only work in the major key, so since this song is in minor, 6 is now your 1.

T,

Thnx for your input & patience. I'm almost there with the song. I just wanted to make sure I understand the theory behind the whole arrangement, I'm doing the strings so I maybe if i get stuck, I can "get-away" with skipping a chord or two here and there. But i don't want that though, I wanna give it my best shot.

Thnx again !!
