MY FELLOW DRUMMERS!!

It is truly an honor for me to address the my bretheren in arms (and sticks) as moderator.  Its definitely something that I know is not going to be an easy task.  I will do as best as I can to uphold the standards of the forum.

I'd like to thank all of the people that make this title happen. 

4Hisglory and SisterT for seeing me fit to carry the title.

SabianKnight, Div, and JGMSFunky for giving me their public votes of confidance. 

To the royalty of the board: Div, Cherri how could I forget about you!Dude_on_Drumma-Sheen, BBD, Rjthaskitzokid, ER, Fred, jkay, edough, BEATBOXERZ...  You guys help keep the board interesting...  Never a dull moment with you guys!   ;D

All the pros (jhaynes, aspears, crodgers, trix, thomas p, ect) for coming thru and spreading their knowledge.  fLaTfIftH for your contributions to the board. 

AND ALL OF THE MEMBERS OF THE DRUM ROOM AS A WHOLE!

The state of the drum room today is honestly better than it was this time last year.  I don't want to jinx it, but there have been no really big fires to put out since the Modern Drummer Fest DVD came out.  This is a huge thing considering the amount of controversy that was once centered around the board.  Membership is holding steady.  We haven't had many accounts deleted that belong to vets (accept for the many departures of DIV and the unexpected departure of J-Stank.... but that one doesn't count because he's back now ;D ).  The board still maintains a fun, loose atmosphere of drummers. 

There are a couple of things that I would like to see happen on the board as a community as a whole.  I would first like to see more informed posts.  Things like information gathered in your study of the craft.  Things like info one has picked up from READING Modern Drummer/DRUM!/Drumhead/Rhythm/Drummer/Traps etc. You know... Things that are conducive to LEARNING!  Also, the drum room has turned into Youtube, jr.  I'm not saying that we can't post vids anymore, but posting material that has been put up won't fly.  If one has a post that is accompanied by a video and has a learning blurb with it will be more readily accepted than those that are just links to a particular clip. 

I look forward to kicking it online with you guys for a loooong time. 

We should all know the rules....  Lets play fair and keep our noses clean....

My cymbal need tobe polished and catalogued as well as my stick bag and my instructional DVD collection...
My car needs to be waxed and detailed every week...
