How can I make tracks

I have a Yamaha M08 and Cubase LE and FL 6 on my cumputer. How can I use these to make my own track. I have listen to some of the works done by Tkeys and others and these track are preety good.

Aye Welcome to LGM Rawlson...I dont own a Motif but i know it has a sequencer and you can make a track on it...If you're using FL, u can use the motif as a MIDI controller to control your VSTs...I use FL and i use a Yamaha PSR E403 as a MIDI controller and i make all my tracks in FL. I also have Cubase LE and SE and i use it for recording audio and sometimes Mixing.... my process of laying down a track is the melody line, then i build around that with chords, bass, drums etc...if Your using FL i wouldnt recommend the stock sounds...juss in incase yout need some free VST's and patches heres some links to go to:

It will all depend with your workflow and style of making tracks. I usually start off with a basic beat and chords then I add melodies. Then I alter them to make verses and choruses. Fruity loops is great for doing this. You might find it easier to build drum tracks on FLstudio than on your Motif. Or you can save it as midi and play it back on your motif then record as audio into cubase.

In my opinion, Cubase and Motif is self-sufficient. Motif has great sounds so you really don't want to use it as mere controller.

The way I would do it is:
1. Create drum tracks on FL and render to .wav file
2. Upload the .wav drum track into Cubase
3. Record synth sounds from Motif into Cubase as audio
4. Mix it all down in Cubase.

Definitely... I do almost exactly what Joash does... except I use a MPC to do the drums (unless I'm using live drums), and I use Sonar 7 PE to record... but I do those exact same steps.
