Anyway, back to the topic at hand:  I like the low-riders but the sunbeams are my favorite strings in the DR lineup.  Carey turned me on to these and they have a real even sound and a great feel.

I've tried the low-riders, but I don't think that the sound is as balanced as the fat-beams.  I also like the slightly lower tension of the fat beams.

Once my Fender Jazz gets here tomorrow, I may have to put some DR fatbeams on her and try her out. I was about to try out some D'addario Pro Steels. I heard they sound good, but all this DR talk gots me thinking. I've found the strings for my schecter though. I'm using Ken Smiths medium lights and she sings a sweet tune.
Keep God first and he'll do the rest!!!

This thread provoked me to take some DR Low Riders, that I had as back-up strings, after I removed them, and put them back on my bass, after a 15 minute soak, in a pot, of boiling water. ;) Instantly fell in love all over again. I think I am home with DR, no more experimenting.  Except for the Fatbeams next.

I used to use Fat-Beams (and Low-Riders) before I tried the High-Beams.  The Fat-Beams are a little too boomy for me.
High-Beams are perfect for my setup!

I have heard good things about these DR Fatbeams and with that said I will give them a try next. I am currently running Ken Smith strings on my 5-string TUNE and was thinking of running MTD strings next; but with reading this post; I will be trying the DR Fatbeams next.

Thanks everybody for chimming in.
