Flying with your bass
« on: January 24, 2008, 01:31:43 PM »
What is the best way to transport my bass on an airplane?
Considering that on most flights you have to check it…. “Scary”
What is the best fight case?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Get a thick quality flight case. I have a Gator GPE-Bass flight case. Also, loooseen up all the strings because the air pressure in the cargo deck can mash up the neck if you dont. They did have to open mine but it was all well. I've used it on a tour and it did me big handy.

I've traveled with my bass plenty of times and they let me carry it on the plane.  If it didn't fit in the overhead compartment they would store up front with the flight attendant's luggage.

Thanks,
I have to be in the Bay Area in a couple of weeks and did not want to loose practice time while in Ca.
