"Everything" by Tye tribbett and G.A.
« on: February 19, 2008, 09:31:55 AM »
When I play the song "Everything"  by Tye tribbett and ga   I play:

   E(chord)    ------------------------    Am(chord)
                   ------------------------
                   ---2--2--1--2--1------
                   -------------------2
                   -----------------------
                   ------------------------

Is this the correct way to play this song?  and i noticed i play this throughout the song with some added riffs and licks ( i think i use licks but im not that sure what a lick is, please explain)?  what are some other things i can add to this song?     also  i think the song moves up on the "Jesus" part   what is played here?

YEA,Great song.I been wrong before, but i think it E-F#M7 chords.Check out the song,do not try to spice it up too much. You can hear the guitar real good.He play it nice and simple.Check out the real fast arpeggios that he do.Other than that, song is pretty simple. If you like to add alittle something. On the F#M7 chord, use your pinky at the fifth frett on the b string,it gives it alittle something.Do not do it everything you strum, just time to time.If it is okay with your M.O.M.I love that song. Can you post yourself playing it.That way Uriah,Dave can really help.DO NOT BE SHY.

This always works for me.

E (Major)    F# (minor)
--0----       --2---
--0----       --2---
--1---        --2---
--2---        --2---
--2---        --4---
--0----       --2---

****CORRECTION****   The second chord is a F#(minor 7) not F#(minor)

when your playing that little lick after the E chord play the open e string with it so it should be...

--0   -0-0-0-0-0
------------------
--1h2-2-1-2-1--
-------  --------2

and if u want you can play just a A maj chord (open) for the build up's at least thats what i do..like before he goes into the MASTER!!!!! And all that...hope this helps
