Teach what?
« on: February 23, 2008, 07:39:28 AM »
My reason for this post is to find out from those teachers exactly what teach. Do u teach theory, beginning piano, jazz, clasical' math, science, I guess you get the picture by now.

Anyway, I teach Intermediate Piano, and Jazz Improv, Jazz Theory, and a Repitore class.

What do u teach?

I've just started.
I teach theory, beginner's piano, some gospel stuff as well as some classics stuff if the person is up to it.
I'm planning to teach synthesizing as well..But I think I need to be workshopped on that before I can pass that on.

I use music theory to teach gospel music.  I start with the basics (major scales, basic chords, progressions,) and as they get better I teach the altered chords so that they can play the contemporary stuff as well.
Real musicians play in every key!!!
Music Theory, da numbers work!
