Some Thoughts on Holy Week - Monday, Day 2
« on: March 17, 2008, 09:07:28 AM »
I believe that this week is the most important celebrations in human history.  Just on yesterday, we celebrated what is referred to as Psalm Sunday which was Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.  Yes, they all were exclaiming Hosanna! Hosanna!  However, by the end of the week they were saying crucify Him! crucify Him! What a turn of events.  What a way for somebody to turn their backs on them.  However, Jesus knew that all of this would occur and He did it all for us.

If you really have an understanding or a revelation of the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, you would know exactly what I am referring to.  On this week, Christians celebrate the death, burial, resurrection of Jesus Christ, the man born of a virgin who came to take away the sins of the world.  The significance of this is that Jesus bridged the gap between man and God.  In other words, Jesus reconciled man back to God.  Every since the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden, man was alienated from God.  God did not dwell with man or in man like He did before the fall; therefore, sin entered the picture and there was a great separation.  However, Jesus came on the scene to bring us (God & Man) back together again.  Now, we have an awesome opportunity to be brought back in right relationship with God the Father.  Therefore, that is in a nutshell of the significance of this week in which is referred to as Holy Week or Passion Week.  Thank God for Jesus!
