Okay, help me out on this one, Fenix.

Oh i mean when "official" P&W is over, and our pastor comes up to preach, she sometimes starts a brand new P&W session right there. :)

I didn't mean she will get have the whole church shut up and have her own P&W session. Wrong choice of words.  :D :D

Sunday school reports (Someone stands up & tells what they learned in SS to try to encourage others to come earlier, I guess)
Devotional service (folks in the congregation stand up & thank the Lord for waking them up, giving them breath in their body & clothing them in their right mind...)
Singing...interspersed in the devo time.
Announcements (the whole bulletin is read out loud every week; I'm thinking there are people in the congregation who can't read & this is why it's done.)
Usually the pastors enter here (of course the whole congregation stands)
Deacon Horatio stands up & reads the verse about being a cheerful giver.
Offering- everyone files forward to put their dollar in the plate
Deacon Horatio prays, "Thank you for this offering. Thank you for the ones who gave; thank you for the ones who wanted to give. Amen"
One of the choirs sings a song or two.
Pastor may sing a song if he thinks the congregation is lethargic. (They come alive when he sings.)
The Word
Altar call; (but really it's not because every week almost every person comes forward & stands & the pastor says a little prayer over them, but there's never any REAL altar time.)
Invitation to join the church.
Pastors go to the back to greet people when they leave.
Sister Suzie usually stands up with one more announcement before everyone is dismissed.
Deacon Ken says the benediction.
Song played while everyone leaves.
 :-\
wow...I just depressed myself at how lame our services are!
I'm praying for a move of the Spirit to take over!  :)

If any new topic should get started, it's this one right here.  I can't for the life of me figure out why the pastor waits until an hour after the service has started to come into the sancutary.  My pastors are the first ones to church, and they stay there the whole time.  I can't stand pastors (ministers, or whoever else) that do this.  It's like you too good to be apart of the service.  >:(

Remarks are what I guess some would call testimony and Closing Remarks are from the pastor and pulpit.

+1!

But I haven't seen this happen in ages..The only time I see it is in some few weddings I ever attend ::)if any!

For us, just like CJ said, Holy Spirit Directs flow...

Nah, we adjusted that a bit:

1) Praise until Programme Director (PD) takes over
2) PD takes over & determines order & duration which all the usual "items" take place.

Communion every 1st Sunday of the month.

Every now & again there will be that "youth", "mama's" or "Sunday School" services, in which case the specific group runs the service & they decide on the program for the day.
Normally it's all the usual & maybe a quick play/ musical items by the group, depending on their creativity/ annointing

What is the point of standing up when the pastor enters? My home church (in detroit) started this a few years ago.  I was there one Sunday and everybody stood up and I looked around  ?/? like what in the world and then when he sat down everbody else sat down then I looked like  ::).  So I asked what is the point, and I was told that he said you stand if the president comes in a room or when the judge comes in the courtroom etc. I said "whatever that is crazy"  ::)  And like T-Block said, they are the 1st to get to the church, so what in the world are you doing in that office that you have to wait until a good 45 mins AFTER service has started to make your grand entry. Get a seat and SADDOWN!!!
Somehow he (my home church pastor) and I were talking one day and this came up and he asked me when does my pastor come into the service, and I said well he actually starts the service then he just kinda looked at me like ohhh ok.

If it had not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be!!!
