I know some professional musicians who says that the hardest key for them to play in is the
key of B and I was trying to figure out why should they have a problem with it.

Thats just my theory. I dont even practie in b, but I can still hold it down. Its easy for me cuz I like playing with the black keys.

NOw put me in Keys with all or mostly white notes(c g f), and I wont pkay as fancy and eloquent as I do in any other key. Probaly because of the fingering. and the fingering is probaly hard for me because I dont play in those keys. and thats probaly because most black music is not writtin in those keys.

there is a song by vanessa carlton called "a thousand miles". I'm sure you heard of it. Its in B. Every body and they baby mama is killin that song on youtube, so The key of B cant be that hard. I even have a version of that song on youtube, but I mesed up so ima hafta to redo it. (see my sig)

I say that any key i easy if you practice in it, know the fingering, know what notes belong, and dont belong etc.

But then again, all muscians are different so...........

Yeah B is a fairly awkward key. Its primarily because the primary chords are awkwardly placed. Playing an E major to an F# major is not the easiest thing to do (for me). I am pretty good in B cuz i practiced using the circle of fifths, but i would rather ust not play in B.

Now E on the piano is a VERY awkward key for me. I would rather skip it too except our church does all these Israel songs and i have to play in E.

I used to hate B.  Now, it's not bad at all.  Quite a few Stevie Wonder songs are in B major and it shares some of the same chords with Ab minor.  Soloing in B minor is similar to soloing in Gb/F# major.

You probably want to work on your scales.  Learn them in each key and start of slow and do them faster as you get more familiar with them.
Guys, I'm no teacher.  T-block is the go to guy for that.   ;D

The reason why so many people have problems with playing in unfamiliar keys is because they are scared of getting out of their comfort zone.  It's gonna require them to slow down and really take time to focus to get better at that particular key.  I hear excuses like "Why do I have to practice in that key when I can just hit a button?  It's much faster."  That is pure pyscho-babble!!!

Most people want things done NOW NOW NOW, hardly anyone wants to wait anymore.  I just can't figure out why keyboardists can't take time to learn every key when every other instrument player (besides the capo guitarist) has no other choice.  It's really a shame b4 God that this is happening.

You can't expect to be a great player in a month, IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN.  You can't even expect to be a great player in a year, IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN.  Most of the so-called "great" musicians have at least 10 years of experience under their belt, it didn't happen overnight.  You will not see the results of all your hard work until much later down the road, so why not take time out now and learn everything you can?

The sooner we stop making excuses like "that key has awkward fingering" or "that takes too long" and MAN UP, the better off we as musicians will be.  Yes, I'm talking to myself as well.  It's time out for this foolishness, this is serious business and we should start taking it seriously.  God has given us musical gifts & talents that we should be expanding & not sitting down on.  Just like it took time to get good in one key, it's gonna take the same (and even more) time to get good in the other ones as well.
Real musicians play in every key!!!
