Pray for me I'm about to purches my first bass. Tarus 24 by washburn. I am really exited and ready to get playen for the Lord.  ;D

You should be excited because you are going to join the few other bassists who have bass as their first instrument, so my advice would be get as far into music theory as you can without confusing yourself. Theory can help your playing in more ways than you might think at first and a lot of people(including myself) neglect music theory in their beginner stage and instead try to learn crazy techniques like double thumbing, for example and end up having to learn theory any way because they realize they can double thumb but they cant apply it to anything.

I agree 100%, a lot a bassist try to start running, even flying before they can crawl, so just take u'r time, build a foundation first, then work your way up. LGM is here for you, they've helped me a lot, so i'm sure they'll do the same.
