FS/FT Schroeder 1210R
« on: October 06, 2008, 07:09:53 PM »
I absolutely LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE this cab, however I want to upgrade to a slightly larger schroeder cab (like a 21012) or 1215L, so I'm putting mine up for sale/trade.

If you're interested let me know.

Have you thought about changing the speaker out to one with a higher rating? I know it may change specs but just a thought.

since the cab was designed with specific speakers in mind I'd rather not take the chance of pairing the cab's tuning with speakers that aren't matched.  That oculd turn into an expensive game.

The cab sounds fantastic and works with 95% of what I'm doing honestly I can EQ the lows to my desires, but too many EQ's lows can cause some serious damage to the cones.

The main thing is that one particular person that I work with often wants me to be DDDEEEEEEEEEEEEPPP..lol.  I like the "Schroeder" Tone that Jorg's cabs produce adn this is why I want to stay with Schroeder.  I'll tell you this.  the 1210R has absolutely no problem cutting through the mix and being heard in a 3 story sanctuary that holds about 1500 people.

Lets put it this way.  I'll be playing the F on the E string and he'll still say "more bass".  So I'm looking for a cab that has alot of lows naturally that I can cut if need be.

J, I know what you are trying to accomplish. How about pairing it with one of these . You'll still have the compact and tight sound of the 1210 along with the deep end sound of the 15. That's an option. But again, I totally understand trying to have just one cab that covers all tonal range. I was just throwing out an idea.

I would pair it, but the 1210R is 4ohms, so n dice since the F1 only drops to 4 ohms.

If I could afford both I'd keep the 1210R and buy the 1215L.

Have you tried the 4x10 Bergatino Cabinet ?.I've using this cabinet along with my Carvin 1200 bass amp and it's the most transparent cabinet that I own, however  I will use my Schroeder 4x10 Rhino series cabinet weith the same head and IMHO Jeremyr I think that the Bergatino is a overall better cabinet, but I also understand the nuances with both cabinets and by that I mean that the Schroeder was design  by a bass player (Jorg himself ) and the Bergatino was designed by and audio engineer ala the 1st series of Goliath II cabinets of the late 80's and early 90's by Stephen Rabe ( which in my mind were the bench mark was set by the design of this cabinets of were other's have and tried to go )but with this being said the Bergatinos are not cheap by any means at all

actaully I'm looking into a full range setup now.

I'm thinking about an omni 10 and tuba 24 from Bill Fitzmaurice designs ( www.billfitzmaurice.com )

That way I'll have my super crazy lows if I need them with the Tuba if the time calls, or I can just use the omni 10 for the other gigs where all that low end isn't required.

I need to learn how to read those charts. I go by what sounds good to my ears. But I would love to understand all that stuff.

Bil has som fine stuff. His cabinets reminds of some the early Meyers Acoustics cabinets ( Anthony Jackson still plays out of these  and you know what kind of lows he  produces ) they're good enclosures

apply for a government grant that should take care of what you need to buy without coming out your own pocket. You have people that will do it for you for about $300 dollars, and if you dont get 5,000 dollars back or more. They give you your money back.
