First Dog - Shelter Pet or Hypo-Allergenic?
« on: November 07, 2008, 02:18:41 PM »
Heard Obama mention at the news conference today that one of his kids is allergic, yet that they would like to adopt a pet from an animal shelter - a 'mutt, like me'(or, as they would say in Hawaii, 'Heinz 57' or a 'poi dog', like most of us, really).

At this I cried out 'Chihuahua!'

What are some other breeds that could qualify?

All dog breeds can produce allergenic proteins that can be found in their dander and saliva. Some produce more or less depending on how much they shed are how long their coat is. I have a german shepherd and he's been around people who are allergic but his coat did not cause an allergic reaction. I also use hypoallergenic shampoo for his coat.
They might want to look at the terrier breed also...they tend to shed less.

I think they should go with the poodle mixed with the golden retriever.

Or knowing Black folks, they will probaly end up with a pitbul mixed with a rottweiler

I would refrain from a pitbull...you know people will turn that into a Sarah Palin joke.

It's called a Golden Doodle.  That one will probably win out.

But..........

I say Rottweiler.  This is all about change.  Time out for the frilly little arf-arf dogs.  If a world leader gets out of line in the White House, just sic Shredder on him.

BTW if you didn't see the dog house that Ellen gave Michelle Obama last time she was on there........it is off the hook.

FF to 6:05

Ellen jokingly said today, now you have to get the girls a dog because that house wasn't cheap.

Barney knew what was up.  The media had been very unkind to his owner.  That was just the doggy way of saying "back up off me PATNAH, I know what you did!!!!!"

Only if they put lipstick on it and give it a hockey jersey
