Does anyone know how to convert these chords to piano?
« on: December 16, 2009, 05:57:23 PM »
Hey, can someone convert these guitar chords to piano for me including LH/RH movements? Reason is... I want my piano player to play and make these chords sound just like the chords I play on the guitar.

Since this topic is related more to the piano players, I will list the notes for these chords to make things easier.

Key:Gb

Chords:
xx4122 - (Notes: Gb-Ab-Db-Gb)
xx6674 - (Notes: Ab-Db-Gb-Ab)
xx8676 - (Notes: Bb-Db-Gb-Bb)
xx9677 - (Notes: Cb-Db-Gb-Cb)
xx4442 - (Notes: Gb-Cb-Eb-Gb)
xx6664 - (Notes: Ab-Db-F-Ab)

So, let me know what guys come up with. Thankx!

All you do is look at the notes and see what chord is being formed. Then voice it the way you want:

Gb-Ab-Db-Gb = Gb2 or Gbsus2
Ab-Db-Gb-Ab = Dbsus4
Bb-Db-Gb-Bb = Gb
Cb-Db-Gb-Cb = Cb2 or Cbsus2
Gb-Cb-Eb-Gb = Cb
Ab-Db-F-Ab = Db

Since you're in the key of Gb, it looks like a 1-5-1-4-5-1 progression:

Gb / Gb-Ab-Db-Gb
Db / Ab-Db-Gb-Ab
Gb / Bb-Db-Gb-Bb
Cb / Cb-Db-Gb-Cb
Cb / Gb-Cb-Eb-Gb
Db / Ab-Db-F-Ab
(repeat)

I wish we knew what song this was from. That way we could help with voicings.

Say, if I were to show my piano player those chords. Will he be able to put it together and recognize it?

Oh, I use those chords for the song called: "O Most High." Those chords I use for that song.

He should be able to figure it out using this information. If not, then he doesn't need to be playing keyboard.
